NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC ON APPLICATION FOR VISA
1. PROCESSING TIME (MONDAY – FRIDAY EXCLUDING PUBLIC HOLIDAYS)
1.1 Submission of visa applications 09.00a.m. – 11.00a.m.
(within two (2) working days after submission; subject to approval)
1.2 Please pay the visa fee during the submission of the visa applications. Failure to do so, the High
Commission will not accept the applications.
1.3 Collection of visa 03.15p.m. – 03.45p.m.
2. VISA REQUIREMENTS
1.1 Passport validity must be more than six (6) months from the date of arrival.
2.2 Completed visa application forms IM.47-Pin 1/97 original+ 1 copy
(Original visa forms Rs.30/- obtainable from the High Commission.)
2.3 Attach two (2) recent passport coloured photographs. (Original Visa application + copy)
2.4 Attach Type Letter from Employer /Applicant with the original company letterhead.
2.5 Completed Minute Sheet.
2.6 Attach Company Business Registration with English translation.
(copies of company business registration documents must be certified true)
2.7 Attach Letter of Invitation from Malaysia.
(Sponsored Social visitors to attach copy of IC/Passport of the Malaysian Sponsor)
2.8 Payment of Visa fees are as follows:
2.8.1 Sri Lanka : Rs. 500/-
2.8.2 India - (Single entry) : Rs. 1600/-
2.8.3 China : Rs. 1000/-
2.8.4 Pakistan & Bangladesh : Rs. 650/-
2.8.5 Myanmar : Rs. 630/-
2.8.6 Others : (will be notified accordingly)
3. IMPORTANT NOTE
3.1 Applicants are to produce the followings when requested:
3.1.1 Confirmed Return Ticket
3.1.2 Travelers Cheques (USD 500 minimum)
3.1.3 Bank Statements
3.2 Transiting Passengers will be allowed 72 hrs on arrival without visa.

3.3 Employment Visa
3.3.1 To attach Letter of Approval from Immigration Malaysia (Original +copy)
3.3.2 To attach Contract or Agreement from Employer / Recruiting Agency
3.3.3 To attach Letter from Employer
3.3.4 To attach copy of medical report
*Single entry visa will be issued, visa should be extended upon arrival
3.4 Student Visa
3.4.1 To attach Letter of Approval from Immigration Malaysia (original +copy)
3.4.2 To attach offer Letter from the University/ College (original + copy)
*Single entry visa will be issued, visa should be extended upon arrival
3.5 Residential Visa
3.5.1 To attach Letter of Approval from Immigration Malaysia (original +copy)
*Single entry visa will be issued, visa should be extended upon arrival
3.6 Foreign Applicants residing in Sri Lanka
3.6.1 Residential Visa from Sri Lanka Immigration is compulsory
4. OTHER MATTERS
4.1 Emergency Matters(To attach Original Letter from concerned authorities i.e. medical letter/report)
4.2 The Malaysian Immigration Authorities reserve the right to refuse entry into Malaysia.

1. | All Visitors MUST ENTER Malaysia through Airports only. |
2. | Visitors MUST obtain Visa Without Reference or Visa With Reference at the nearest Malaysian Embassies / Consulates before entering Malaysia. |
3. | Exemption of visa is given to nationals of African countries as listed in Para 3.1 above, who visits Malaysia under the sponsorship of the Government or as a guest of the Government. The period of stay approved will be based on the period required to achieve the purpose of the visit as a government sponsored visitor or guest. Proof of sponsorship or invitation as a guest of the Government should be produced to the Immigration Officer at the point of entry. |
4. | i- Conditions for Visa Without Reference (VWTR): |
| a) | Posses confirm air ticket back to country of origin or current residing country or posses visa and confirm air ticket to country of onward destination. |
| b) | Visitors will be given a maximum 14 days stay with no extension allowed or much shorter period of stay for those who are on transit before continuing their onward journey. |

| | ii- Conditions for Visa With Reference (VWR): |
| | a) | This visa is issued for those traveling on business or investment only. |
| b) | Trip MUST be sponsored by a local high level individual or a local business company which invites them to Malaysia (the sponsoring company need to be well established and is required to submit copies of Form 9, 24 and 49 to the Immigration Department of Malaysia). |
| c) | The sponsor MUST deposit RM 2000.00 per person to the Immigration Department of Malaysia as a security deposit. |
| d) | Visitors will be given a maximum 30 days of stay with no extension allowed. |

5. | Extension of Social/Business pass is not allowed unless approved by the Director General or Deputy Director General of the Immigration Department of Malaysia. |
