PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION OF MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORNISATION (ICAO) PASSPORT
On March 15. 2010 High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore started issuing ICAO compliant E-Passport for 48 pages and replaced the current 32 & 64 pages of Biometric Passport.

- 2 recent (6 months below) colored passport-sized photograph - 3.5cm. x 5cm. with Light Blue background. Polaroid photo not acceptable. Proper attire is advisable (No sleeveless). Self-service photo taking machine is available at the High Commission.

- Original & photocopy of Singapore PR Identity Card/ Employment Pass/ Dependent Pass/ 'S' Pass/ Work Permit/ Student Pass/ Long Term Pass as proof of status in Singapore.

5. Current international or Restricted Passport if available. |
6. Holders of Temporary Identity Card JPN.KPPK 09 need to produce their Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate during application. |
7. Holders of Temporary Identity Card JPN.KPPK 11 have to be certified by National Registration Department and need to produce their Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate during application. |
| 8. Malaysia parents who have renounced their Malaysia Citizenship are required to bring 'Annex A' of Renunciation of Malaysian Citizenship and their Singapore Identity Card. |
- Document No. 3, 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 and below must be produced in original & photocopied on A4 paper upon submission.

PRESENCE OF APPLICANT
- Applicant above 18 years has to be present for submission and collection of passport.
- Applicant below 18 years has to be present for submission and collection of passport and accompanied by one of their Malaysia parents.
- Applicant below 2 years need not be present for passport collection. The passport can be collected by one of their Malaysia parents.
MALAYSIA CITIZEN IN SINGAPORE REGISTRATION
All Malaysians living abroad are encouraged to register themselves at the nearest Malaysian Embassy/High Commission as stipulated in item 6 of the Malaysian Passport that reads "A Malaysian citizen residing abroad must register his/her name and latest address athe Malaysia Embassy/High Commission or Consulate Office". Malaysians can now register online using the E-Consular Application (please use your IC Number for identification) at the following link: www.kln.gov.my/web/guest/ekonsular OR you can fill in the Malaysia Citizens in Singapore Registration form (page 6 & 7 of the attachment) and submit together with passport application form at the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore.

SUBMISSION & COLLECTION HOURS (Monday - Friday)
Submission : 8.00 a.m. - 12.00 noon
Collection Day : Five working days after the submission date
Collection Time : 2.30 p.m. - 4.00 p.m.
NOTE: In the event when the computer system glitch, appointment date will be issue for another day for the submission. Collection of passport will remain three working days from the submission date.
The High Commission is closed on Saturday, Sunday & Public Holiday (if the holiday falls on a weekend or declared national public holiday for Malaysia or Singapore, it will be substituted by the following working day).

Passport for 2 years validity only available at Malaysia Immigration Department inside Malaysia.
GENERAL STATEMENT
- All biometric passports issued since 2002 will be valid for 5 years only from the date of issue and will not be extended.
- Passport validity:
i. First time applicants: 5 years
ii. Passport renewals: 5 years + remaining validity
*If the remaining validity of your current exceeds 6 months, the validity upon renewal will be pegged at 5 years 6 months upon submission.
Example A
Your passport expires on 23 December 2009. You renew your passport on 23 October 2009 (2 months from expiry). The new passport validity period will be 5 years 2 months or valid until 23 December 2014.
Example B
Your passport expires on 23 December 2009. You renew your passport on 23 March 2009 (9 months from expiry). The passport validity period will be 5 years 6 months (as the remaining validity exceeds 6 months), or valid until 23 September 2014.
Example C
Your passport has already expired. The new validity will be 5 years from the passport issuance date. Your passport expires on 23 December 2008. You renew your passport on 23 January 2009. The new passport will be valid for 5 years and expiring on the 23 January 2014.
- Passport number will be different each time a new passport issued.
- Passport number will be cancelled and returned to bearer when the new passport is collected. The cancelled passport particulars will be printed on page 31 of the new passport for reference.
- Please refer to the respective Foreign Embassies on their procedures for transfer of visa in the old passport.

High Commission of Malaysia officers reserves the right to ask / request for additional document deemed necessary.
